Twenty-five-plus heroes, 477 weapons across seven rarity tiers, the Klash of Knights PvP arena, and the new Eidolon companion system, all in a single 600MB pixel roguelike from ChillyRoom.

Soul Knight is a pixel-art roguelike action shooter developed by ChillyRoom and originally released on 17 February 2017 for Android, iOS, and later Nintendo Switch. The current Android build is version 8.2.0, pushed live on 27 April 2026. Each run sends you through three procedurally generated dungeon stages of five sub-levels each (15 floors per full clear), with a roster of 25+ unlockable heroes plus five Legendary Heroes, a weapon pool past 470 entries spread across seven rarity colors, and side modes that range from Boss Rush gauntlets to the tower-defense format of The Origin and the new Klash of Knights arena. Local LAN and online co-op support 2 to 4 players for the whole campaign.

25+ heroes split across three playstyles and five Legendary slots

The hero roster passes 25 regular characters plus five Legendary Heroes earned through specific upgrade chains. Every character ships with its own HP pool, Armor value, Energy bar, melee damage stat, and a kit of three skills, where the second and third skills typically cost 1.99 USD or a one-time gem unlock between 2,000 and 10,000 gems.

The roster splits cleanly into three playstyle groups:

  • High-armor frontliners. Paladin runs the highest Armor stat in the game (8 bars) paired with the lowest HP (3 hearts), and his Energy Shield blocks every projectile for 5 seconds. Knight sits at 5 hearts and 5 armor, and after his Chaotic Strike upgrade he becomes one of the few characters allowed to dual-wield two low-cost guns. Engineer slots in next with Armor Mount turrets that fully restore his permanent armor when passing through a portal.
  • High-crit skirmishers. Assassin and Rogue share the second-highest base crit chance in the roster, with Rogue costing only 2,000 gems despite his lowest-HP-in-game stat. Werewolf’s third skill Devour heals 1 HP per kill and can chain a full heart if HP drops to 2 or below, turning him into a self-sustain pick. Vampire’s passive steals 1 HP every 3 hits, or refills Energy at the same rate when HP is already capped.
  • Energy and crowd-control casters. Witch’s Piercing Frost slows a whole room for 4 seconds at 60 Energy. Necromancer summons skeletons that distract elite enemies in the Knight Kingdom biome, and his Nightmare debuff reduces enemy DEF by 30% at full upgrade. Alchemist throws Elemental Potions that leave a 2-second poison cloud, mainly useful against Buckethead-tier units in the Dungeon biome.

Each hero levels up to 5 stars by spending gems at the Knight Statue, with cumulative bonuses of +1 HP, +1 Armor, +20 Energy, a 2-second skill cooldown cut, and a final skill upgrade. The five Legendary Heroes (Inter-dimension Traveler, Element Envoy, The Beheaded, Special Forces, and Time Travelling Ninja) unlock through paired-character fusion blueprints crafted at the Design Table.

477 weapons spread across seven rarity tiers and the Forge fusion system

As of the current build, Soul Knight tracks 477 logged weapons. The arsenal sorts by colored rarity tier in this order from common to rare:

  • White (Common): Old Pistol, Spear, AK-47, Hay Rake, PKP. Baseline early-floor pickups with 5 to 15 damage per shot and 0 or 1 Energy per fire.
  • Green (Uncommon): Flame Machine Gun, Double Barrel Rifle, Red Rattlesnake. Damage climbs to roughly 20 per hit and elemental status effects start appearing.
  • Blue (Rare): Frost Bow, Pierce, Gas Blaster. Status-effect specialists, useful against the dash-speed Skeletons in the Dungeon biome.
  • Purple (Very Rare): Gate, SMG M4 (reduced from 3 to 2 Energy per shot in Update 2.8.0), high-tier crit pistols.
  • Orange (Epic): Magic, Thunder Sword. The original Thunder Sword was reclassified from Orange to Red in Update 2.8.0, so attachments no longer slot in.
  • Red (Legendary): Bomber, Unseong Staff, One Punch (deals 999 damage on a single hit then reverts to white), Breath of Hades (costs HP instead of Energy), Death Note (instantly kills any non-boss enemy), and the new Eternal Night and Nether Lantern drops from Chaotic Void. Red weapons cannot mount attachments.
  • Magenta (Mythical): Up to three additional abilities that unlock each time the weapon is re-obtained. Flamewrath Blade is the latest entry, added in version 8.1.0 from the Soul Legends: Artifact Ascension event.

The Forge Table at the Workshop registers a weapon once you collect 2 pieces for White, 3 for Green, 4 for Blue, 6 for Purple, 7 for Orange, or 8 for Red. Past that, you can craft it on demand with Ironstone and Magic Fragments. Two compatible weapons stacked in the Reforging Furnace fuse into a new one, with set recipes such as Fire Sword plus Ice Sword equaling Thunder Sword, or Desert Eagle plus Frost Eagle plus Fire Eagle plus Poison Eagle plus Plasma Eagle plus Cherry Blossom equaling the Weeping Eagle.

Three dungeon stages, 13 biomes, and rotating world bosses

A full Soul Knight run covers Stages 1 to 3, each with five sub-levels and a boss at level X-5. The biome rolls at random per stage, so two consecutive runs rarely play the same.

Stage 1 rotates between Forest (blowpipe goblins and dense foliage cover), Glacier (slippery ice floors plus freezing projectiles), Relics, and Mechanical Ruins. The first-stage boss pulls from Snowman King, Easter Bunny, or seasonal entries such as Christmas Treant. Stage 2 swaps in Knight Kingdom, Dungeon, Halloween, Chiseltown, or hidden biomes Cave, Grave, and Swamp depending on optional tasks. Recurring bosses include Grand Knight, Grand Wizard, Dark Grand Knight, Skeleton King, C6H8O6 (drops the C5H6O5 blueprint plus a Bomber weapon piece), Phantom King, and Headless Knight. Stage 3 sits on Spaceship, Volcano, or Neo Isle, with final-boss slots filled by Zulan the Colossus, Baby Dragon Bros, Iron Pirate King, or Anubis. A fourth stage adds Monolithic Range Ruins, Ancient Battleground, or Undersea (the Stage 4 boss only appears at 4-3 and 4-5, with the Magic Stone altar room at 4-6).

Hidden biomes carry their own modifiers. Clearing Cave, Grave, or Swamp without losing health applies a positive condition for the rest of the run, but reviving inside the biome locks you into a negative one. Every 3-5 boss kill drops a guaranteed Magic Shard tied to the biome (Blue, Purple, Green, Red, Obsidian, Orange, or Sky Blue), used for Mythical weapon crafting at the Forge Bench.

Side modes: Boss Rush, The Origin tower defense, Matrix endless, and Klash of Knights PvP

Past Level Mode, Soul Knight stacks five distinct side modes inside the same client.

Boss Rush unlocks after handing three Valkyrie Feathers to the Valkyrie NPC in the Living Room. It strips the standard floor exploration and runs you through every boss in sequence. A harder variant called Rush to Purity activates if you enter the portal with no weapons or buffs from the Living Room, and beating every boss inside a strict time limit spawns secret bosses Sir Sangria or Sir Violet.

The Origin is the tower-defense format. The player guards the Magic Stone against endless waves by placing and upgrading Wall, EMP Pulse, and turret structures, while managing Gold and Energy income from side biomes that also drop NPC rescues and regional bosses.

Matrix of the Lord of Evil replaces the old Loop Mode with an endless-floor format. The Pressure Level rises each floor, scaling enemy HP and damage past 4 to 5 times base values inside 30 minutes. Survival depends on stacking Matrix-specific buffs and the Gene Map system, with run rewards scaling on total floors cleared.

Void Invasion, expanded in version 8.1.0 and 8.2.0, runs three difficulty tiers up to Chaotic Void. In Chaotic Void, bosses drop Void Cassettes and red weapons such as Eternal Night and Nether Lantern. A Void Invasion guide button now sits at the bottom-right of the mode selection screen.

Klash of Knights (Beta) is the PvP arena introduced in version 8.0.0 on 7 February 2026. Eight players spawn in a single arena, gather EXP, power up, and fight for weapons across a single match. The 8.2.0 update adds two new playable characters, fresh buffs, and weapons to the rotation, plus an optimized buff refresh that cuts repetition from the fixed order.

Slower-paced systems include gardening (plant Sunflower, Carrot, Mandrake, and Heptacolor Viola for boss-specific rewards), fishing with the Handmade Rod from the Retired Knight NPC, and Digital Space, an open exploration mode added in late 2025.

Local LAN and online co-op for 2 to 4 players

Soul Knight supports both Wi-Fi LAN and online multiplayer for full runs. Two players on the same Wi-Fi link instantly through the Match function, while online co-op scales up to 4 players via the Friends list added in version 6.6.0 from October 2024. Mercenaries scale by upgrade level: an un-upgraded mercenary cannot pick up anything above Blue rarity, the first Drillmaster upgrade unlocks Purple pickups, and a second upgrade clears the rest. Headgear Hero grabs Rifles, Mercenary Intern grabs Shotguns, and Royal Knight grabs swords; the Pet Buff bypasses this rarity gate entirely.

What’s new in Soul Knight version 8.2.0

Version 8.2.0 went live on 27 April 2026 across Android and iOS, with the headline addition being the Legion of Eidolons event and a rework of Captain’s first skill.

Legion of Eidolons event. Weapons in your run convert into floating Eidolon companions that fight alongside you. Each Eidolon inherits its base weapon’s stats and gains talents across six rarity tiers (White, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Red). Talents are element-locked, so Fire damage talents do not affect Ice Eidolons. Daily, the first three runs grant double event currency. The event drops Arms Expert’s skin Armament Array: Scintilla plus a new weapon skin. Two important gates: the event needs the Garden unlocked first, and it does not run in Multiplayer Mode.

Captain skill rework. Skill 2 was added and Skill 1 Barrel Blowout reworked. The new Barrel Blowout offers rapid deployment, an instant detonation trigger that chains into nearby explosions, and an expanded blast radius. A new skin, Onward, Wavecutter, ships alongside.

Klash of Knights (Beta) expansion. Two new playable characters and a new pool of buffs and weapons join the arena, with the buff refresh mechanism optimized to reduce repetition.

Training Supply Vol. 4. Clearing the task list grants 2 Fish Chips plus a choice of one paid skin out of six. Activating the Advanced Training Supply unlocks an exclusive Elf skin and additional Fish Chips.

Void Invasion polish. A new Void Invasion Tips panel sits in the stage UI bottom-right corner. Chaotic Void bosses now have a chance to drop Void Cassettes and red weapons Eternal Night and Nether Lantern.

Spring Sign-In event. Running from 28 April 2026 10:00 to 26 May 2026 23:59 (UTC+8). Sign in to pick one character of eight, one skin of eight, and additional materials.

The update also adds the Weapon Skin Gacha pool with the “I’ll Carry” skinline, 9 new character skins (Warliege’s Kosmos Kaptors among them), 12 new weapon skins of which 6 carry evolved effects, plus an optimized Shop interface layout.

Soul Knight MOD APK features

This MOD strips out the gem grind and unlocks the full hero plus weapon catalog, aimed at players who want to test every Legendary Hero, push the Matrix of the Lord of Evil to high Pressure Levels, and roll every Void Cassette without spending hundreds of runs on Lucky Cat farming.

Unlimited Gems and Materials

Gems sit at the 99,999 cap from the first launch, with Ironstone, Magic Fragments, and Fish Chips staying full as well. Stock-APK runs typically yield 50 to 200 gems per cleared dungeon plus 1 Fish Chip per Lucky Cat free spin (limited to one per day), so unlocking Rogue at 2,000 gems can take 10 runs and Engineer at 10,000 gems can take 50. The MOD removes that ceiling, so Forge crafting for entries like Bomber (which normally needs the C5H6O5 blueprint plus 8 weapon pieces) becomes immediate.

All Heroes Unlocked, Including the Five Legendary Heroes

Every regular character (Knight, Rogue, Witch, Assassin, Alchemist, Engineer, Vampire, Paladin, Elf, Werewolf, Priestess, Druid, Robot, Berserker, Necromancer, Officer, Taoist, Airbender, Demonmancer, Miner, Trap Master, Captain, Warliege, Lancer, Sword Master, Bard, Gunner, Trickster, Physicist, Costume Prince, Astromancer, Fighter, Yin-Yang Adept, Arms Expert) opens from launch, plus all five Legendary Heroes (Inter-dimension Traveler, Element Envoy, The Beheaded, Special Forces, Time Travelling Ninja). The stock version requires fully upgrading paired characters and crafting fusion items at the Design Table to access any one Legendary; the MOD skips that 5-star gate entirely, so Inter-dimension Traveler’s pass-through-walls skill works in run one.

Unlimited Energy

The Energy bar stays maxed at 200+ instead of draining 3 per shot on SMG M4 or 60 per cast on Witch’s Piercing Frost. High-tier characters that scale with Energy ceiling, including Inter-dimension Traveler and Priest, can spam skills back to back, and weapons like Heavenly Sword (which usually drains 1 Energy per swing) fire freely across full Stage 3 rooms. This matters most for endless-floor runs in the Matrix of the Lord of Evil, where standard Energy economy collapses past Pressure Level 30.

God Mode (Locked HP and Armor)

HP and Armor stay at maximum, so Paladin’s 3-heart and Rogue’s 2-heart HP pools never become a liability against Zulan the Colossus’ radial barrage or Baby Dragon Bros’ charged fire breath. Standard runs lose hearts to Buckethead Skeletons (40 damage per cleaver hit) or the Halloween biome’s invisible ghosts; the MOD nullifies both, letting solo runs into Rush to Purity reach secret bosses Sir Sangria and Sir Violet without the usual no-damage-clear timing window.

Mod Menu Toggle

A floating in-game menu lets you flip God Mode, Unlimited Energy, One-Hit Kill, and free shopping on or off per run. This matters for the Klash of Knights PvP arena, where leaving God Mode on inside an 8-player ranked match would normally trigger anti-cheat flags. Switching cheats off before entering Klash of Knights keeps your loadout clean while letting you keep the unlocks for solo play.

Ads Removed

Rewarded ads normally trigger when claiming Lucky Cat Shop bonus spins, post-boss double-drops at 1-5 and 2-5, and the daily Sign-In bonus rewards. The MOD auto-grants those rewards without playing back the 30-second clips, which adds up across the 28-day Spring Sign-In cycle.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Soul Knight MOD APK safe to use on a regular ChillyRoom account?

The MOD is built for solo and offline runs (Level Mode, Boss Rush, The Origin, Matrix of the Lord of Evil). Using it on a Cloud Save tied to your active ChillyRoom account carries some risk, since cheat flags can trip when stats jump out of the normal progression curve. The safer pattern is to use a separate Google account on a fresh install, keep your main save on the stock APK, and never sync between the two profiles.

Will the MOD trigger a ban in Klash of Knights?

Klash of Knights (Beta) runs on ChillyRoom’s server-side validation, so any active God Mode, Unlimited Energy, or One-Hit Kill flag inside the 8-player arena risks a match-level kick or account flag. The built-in Mod Menu lets you toggle every cheat off before queueing for PvP, which keeps the build usable for solo play and avoids the leaderboard side. Standard practice is to use the MOD only for Level Mode, Matrix of the Lord of Evil, and The Origin.

How does the MOD differ from the stock APK once everything is unlocked?

The MOD changes the front-loaded grind, not the late-game ceiling. Stock-APK players reach the same 25+ heroes and 477 weapons given roughly 200 to 400 hours of play. The MOD compresses that into the first launch by setting gems at 99,999, opening all hero slots including the five Legendary Heroes, and freeing Forge crafting from material costs. Damage formulas, boss patterns, and biome rotations stay identical.

Will switching back from MOD to stock wipe my progress?

Yes, in most cases. The MOD uses its own local save file that does not write back to ChillyRoom’s Cloud Save. Reinstalling the stock APK and signing into the same Google account restores the cloud-backed progress, but any gems, heroes, or weapons accumulated inside the MOD never transfer. Cloud Save in Soul Knight only syncs runs from the official build, so keep the two profiles separate from the start.

What Android version does Soul Knight 8.2.0 require?

Soul Knight 8.2.0 requires Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher, with 600MB of free storage for the base install. The Klash of Knights PvP arena and Matrix of the Lord of Evil mode benefit from at least 3GB of RAM to avoid frame drops past Pressure Level 40. Cloud Save uses Google Play Games on Android and an active internet connection to push the encrypted save to ChillyRoom’s servers.
